What No One Tells You About Mexico City

🎧 Short on time? Listen on Spotify Mexico City is the capital of Mexico and the largest city in North America, with over 21 million people in its metropolitan area. Can you even imagine a million people? When you're in Mexico City as a tourist, you don’t just picture it—you feel it. Some places you visit are so packed, it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before. The sheer volume of humanity is overwhelming… and yet, strangely exhilarating. It’s chaotic, yes, but there’s a kind of joy in witnessing that much life all at once. I’d stop in my tracks, overwhelmed by the scene—then dive into filming, snapping photos, trying to hold onto the feeling. And yet, in the middle of all that, life carried on. People were deep in their routines, focused, committed, completely unaware that someone nearby was marveling at the beauty of their everyday. You feel that scale immediately when arriving by air—tiny houses stretch endlessly, packed tightly together like a living mosaic....

The Protocols

The Wilderness Protocols: A Systems-Based Philosophy

Travel is more than movement; it is a discipline. To navigate the world effectively, one must operate under a set of established protocols that balance the physical, the emotional, and the technical. These are the three pillars of my philosophy.

Directive I: Tactical Readiness

True exploration requires a system that eliminates friction. Tactical readiness is the art of selecting the right tools for the objective—from high-altitude gear to professional documentation hardware. By mastering your equipment, you free your mind to focus on the terrain. Whether it is a solo cycling expedition or a mountain hike, your gear should be an extension of your intent, never a distraction.

Directive II: Emotional Discipline

The most dangerous terrain is not a mountain trail, but the internal landscape of impulse and reaction. Based on the principles in The Logic of Love, this protocol emphasizes choosing over chasing. It is the practice of maintaining composure in high-stakes environments and making decisions rooted in logic and self-respect rather than fleeting emotion. This is the foundation of the "Mindset of the Move."

Directive III: Peak Mental Clarity

High-stakes travel demands a sharp edge. This protocol explores the intersection of physical endurance and mental fortitude. Through practices like long-term fasting and rigorous physical standards, we build the stamina required to endure the elements. When the body is disciplined, the mind becomes a precision instrument capable of navigating any challenge the wilderness presents.
