What No One Tells You About Mexico City

🎧 Short on time? Listen on Spotify Mexico City is the capital of Mexico and the largest city in North America, with over 21 million people in its metropolitan area. Can you even imagine a million people? When you're in Mexico City as a tourist, you don’t just picture it—you feel it. Some places you visit are so packed, it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before. The sheer volume of humanity is overwhelming… and yet, strangely exhilarating. It’s chaotic, yes, but there’s a kind of joy in witnessing that much life all at once. I’d stop in my tracks, overwhelmed by the scene—then dive into filming, snapping photos, trying to hold onto the feeling. And yet, in the middle of all that, life carried on. People were deep in their routines, focused, committed, completely unaware that someone nearby was marveling at the beauty of their everyday. You feel that scale immediately when arriving by air—tiny houses stretch endlessly, packed tightly together like a living mosaic....

Cusco, Peru

Cusco is the gateway to Machu Picchu. Tourist visiting Machu Picchu will arrive in Cusco. In Cusco  there are many travel agents that offer various packages to visit Machu Picchu. The city is at an elevation of 11000 ft and one can experience altitude sickness regardless of fitness levels.

It is a very pleasant city, full of restaurants and fun places to shop. There are street vendors men and women with very interesting souvenirs and other necessities. You can always buy water. I was surprised and relieved to see a Starbucks near the plaza. It is a nice place to walk and take pictures.

From here you can also take other tours to Rainbow mountain and other places.   The tours are paid in dollars. some tours include meals. The night life here is mainly restaurants and a stroll after dinner. Most areas are at walking distance. There are plenty of taxis and buses should you need one. Every hotel lobby has coco tea and leaves to chew for altitude sickness provided free. However it never worked me.

Everybody is nice here although you don't talk the language. They are very efficient too. Unlike in America, they always ask for your passport. Which was annoying, considering that you are going to an attraction.

Its high altitude and during the sunny months, its very hot. The fun thing about anywhere in Lima is that you can always buy water and other drinks on the streets. Everywhere you go there are lots of street vendors and they would approach you to sell their in a veery friendly way. A lot of women would carry their babies on the back in a traditional way which a cloth tied in secure manner. It really is a nice town to visit. Yes! there is one Starbucks here.
