What No One Tells You About Mexico City

🎧 Short on time? Listen on Spotify Mexico City is the capital of Mexico and the largest city in North America, with over 21 million people in its metropolitan area. Can you even imagine a million people? When you're in Mexico City as a tourist, you don’t just picture it—you feel it. Some places you visit are so packed, it’s like nothing you’ve ever seen before. The sheer volume of humanity is overwhelming… and yet, strangely exhilarating. It’s chaotic, yes, but there’s a kind of joy in witnessing that much life all at once. I’d stop in my tracks, overwhelmed by the scene—then dive into filming, snapping photos, trying to hold onto the feeling. And yet, in the middle of all that, life carried on. People were deep in their routines, focused, committed, completely unaware that someone nearby was marveling at the beauty of their everyday. You feel that scale immediately when arriving by air—tiny houses stretch endlessly, packed tightly together like a living mosaic....

Sequoia National Park, California

Sequoia National Park

I am a fan of the national parks. Parks are well visited and they have a lot to offer. I find it very interesting and educational.  Among the many national parks in the states Sequoia National park is unique. It's known for its huge Sequoia trees, notably The General Sherman Tree dominating the Giant Forest.

If you are in Los Angeles, this could be a day trip. If this is the case leave early as there is so many things you could do in the park. The road to there is hilly and one way up and one way down. Expect slow moving traffic.

General Sherman is one of the oldest trees in the world. It is visited by many and also by school children as day trips. These trees are so huge that when you stand under one and look up, it feels like eternity. It was a small hike to get there which was very nice.

The cross sectional view shows the age of these trees and it is very tall and you clearly see the size of these trees.

There are various hikes that can be done here. There is camping and cabin rentals too. There is a restaurant in the main area where you could buy a sandwich for your hike. How nice is that. The information for most of these things can be found at the entrance to the park or online.
