I’d stop in my tracks, overwhelmed by the scene—then dive into filming, snapping photos, trying to hold onto the feeling. And yet, in the middle of all that, life carried on. People were deep in their routines, focused, committed, completely unaware that someone nearby was marveling at the beauty of their everyday. You feel that scale immediately when arriving by air—tiny houses stretch endlessly, packed tightly together like a living mosaic....
